Bloomingdale's Store, Fifth Avenue,New York

Bloomingdale's is a chain of upscale department stores owned by Macy's, Inc. Bloomingdale's has 36 stores nationwide, with annual sales of $1.9 billion. In the third season, after encouragement from Joey and Chandler, Rachel quit her coffee shop job to pursue a career in fashion, working as a personal shopper at Bloomingdale's. This building is set to become an upgrade to The Museum.

Bloomingdale's is mentioned in the British sitcom, Absolutely Fabulous in the episode entitled "Fashion" (Series 1, Episode 1) which was originally broadcast on BBC Two on November 12th, 1992. However, the scene was cut from the final broadcast. Two stars, Jennifer Saunders and June Whitfield, from the Absolutely Fabulous cast appear in Friends during Season 4. They portrayed Andrea Waltham, the stepmother of Ross' second wife Emily and the Waltham family's Housekeeper.
