Hootie and the Blowfish are an American pop rock band.
Ross Geller is a fan of the band, and his friends buy him tickets to one of their shows as a birthday gift in "The One With Five Steaks And An Eggplant". He attends with Chandler and Monica, while Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel stay home due to feelings of inadequacy.
After the show, Monica runs into Steven Fisher, who she used to babysit and whose firm now represents the band. He takes the three friends backstage, where they party with the band, and Monica gets a hickey from making out with one of the band members.
The band is only mentioned, none of the musicians are actually seen in the episode.
