Phoebe prepares to go to the beach in search of family, and the gang goes with her. She meets a woman who claims to be a friend of her mother, but later reveals that she is her biological mother. Meanwhile, Ross' girlfriend Bonnie is unable to come and Rachel uses this opportunity to flirt with Ross, but Bonnie surprises everyone by turning up at the beach a few days after the friends arrive. After Joey tries to convince everyone to play strip poker, the gang settle for a strip 'Happy Days' game. Chandler tries to persuade Monica that he is good boyfriend material after she laughs at the idea of Chandler and her ever dating.

Rachel convinces Bonnie to shave her head, hoping Ross will stop dating her if she was bald, so Rachel could reveal her feelings for Ross. Bonnie decides to shave her head and Ross find out about Rachel's feelings. At the end of the episode, he approaches the doors of Rachel and Bonnie's room, and wonders who to sleep with and who to break up with. He opens one of the doors and the episode ends.
