Chandler breaks up with his girlfriend claiming that it is because her nose is too big, but truthfully he is trying to escape a potentially serious relationship. After Mr. Heckles dies and leaves all his belongings to Monica and Rachel, Chandler discovers eerie similarities between the late eccentric man and his own life. Not wanting to end up alone like Mr. Heckles, he calls Janice in hopes to rekindle their relationship, only to learns that she is married and has children. Ross and Phoebe have a dispute over the progression of evolution.

• At the beginning of the episode, before Chandler comes in Monica's appartment, it seems like the friends are playing a poker game. The girls learned to play in the 1x18 "The One With All The Poker" episode.
• As Janice said in the 1x14 "The One With The Candy Hearts" episode, Chandler ended up calling her.
• This is Mr Heckles last living appearance. He appears again in The One with the Flashback, but 2 years prior to is death.
