[edit] Plot
When Ross has an allergic reaction to Monica's kiwi-lime pie, Chandler and Joey are asked to baby-sit Ross's son, Ben. They use Ben to help them try to pick up girls. They leave him accidentally on the bus, they later find him, but they are not sure the baby is really Ben as there are two similar babies in the room. Phoebe loses her Central Perk singing gig to a professional singer, and she becomes a street singer in front of the café.

- This is the episode where we first learn that Ross has a Ph.D.
- In the spin-off show Joey in the episode "Joey and the Book Club", Joey is seen singing "Angel of the Morning," the exact song Chrissie Hynde was singing at Central Perk.
- Giovanni Ribisi (Condom Boy) returns in subsequent years, playing Phoebe's half brother Frank Buffay Jr.
- Lea Thompson crosses over in her role from Caroline in the City. Later on the night this episode was aired, David Schwimmer appeared as Ross on The Single Guy and Matthew Perry appeared as Chandler on Caroline in the City.
- In this episode, Ross hopes that Ben has a little sister. In season 8, that comes true when Emma is born.
